Foregiveness & Salvation

The ABC's of Salvation:

A   Admit you're a lost sinner and repent!

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  Romans  3:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

B   Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ!
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  John 3:16
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.  Acts 4:12

C Confess Him as your Lord and Savior!

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10:9-10
...for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13

D Don't put it off!
"I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6:2b
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him..."  Revelation 3:20

Three important questions:

  1. Does what you have read above make sense?
  2. Is there any reason you would not be willing to receive God's free gift of eternal life?
  3. Are you willing to turn from your sin and place your faith in Jesus right now?

  If your answers are yes, you can receive Jesus Christ right now through prayer (talking to God).  God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart.  Say this simple prayer:

  Dear God, I know that Jesus is Your Son, and that He died on the cross and was raised from the dead for me.  I know I have sinned and need forgiveness.  I am willing to turn from my sins right now and receive Jesus as my Savior and Lord. Take control of the throne of my life and make me the kind of person You want me to be.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

  Welcome to the family of God!  If you sincerely prayed this prayer, you have just made the most important decision of your life.  You can be sure you are saved and have eternal life because:

God keeps His promises

You repented of your sin (Acts 3:19)
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord...  

You placed your faith in Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9)
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.

You surrendered to Jesus as Lord (Romans 10:9-10)
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

God recorded your commitment

"Rejoice, because your names are written in heaven" (Luke 10:20).
